SCH students & Emergency Relief | Grade 11 | Sindupalchowk
My name is Lakpa, and I have spent most of my life in the SCH hostel in Nepal. I arrived here when I was very young, and I’ve been here ever since. I am now in grade 11, and I love it here. I have made many good friends and have enjoyed a nurturing environment that has helped me grow and develop.
Recently, I experienced severe pain and fainted in the hostel. The SCH staff immediately took me to the hospital, where I received a diagnosis. I needed surgery on my abdomen, which would cost around NRs 200K. My family was devastated when they learned about the cost, as we simply could not afford it.
But then something amazing happened. The SCH staff reached out to the sponsors of the organization, ICEF-Taiwan, and explained the situation to them. Without hesitation, they agreed to pay for my surgery. I couldn’t believe it – I was going to get the medical care I needed, and my family would not have to worry about the cost.
The surgery went well, and I was back at the hostel soon after. I was so grateful to the SCH staff and ICEF-Taiwan for their incredible support. They have done so much for me and the other children at the hostel. They have provided us with a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that has helped us grow and develop.
I am proud to be a part of the SCH family, and I know that without the support of our sponsors, we would not have the opportunities that we do today. I want to thank them again for funding SCH and ICEF-Taiwan and for helping me and the other children in Nepal.
Thanks to their kindness and generosity, I am now back at the hostel, surrounded by my friends, enjoying life and studying hard. I don’t know where I would be without them, and I will always be grateful for all that they have done for me.
