Apsara Jirel was born as the second daughter of Shanta Mala Jerel and Gopal Jirel in the remote areas of eastern Nepal. She is 13 years old now. She studies in grade 8. There is no school for higher studies in her village after grade 5. Therefore, she is going to Hanumanteswor High School, far from her home. Her family can’t afford to pay for a school bus. Moreover, there is no regular bus to reach her school. So, she has to walk 1hrs descent and 2hrs ascent for her education.
Apsara’s father left for Malaysia to raise his three young daughters and wife. The family also has some home loans, which they took to rebuild their old home. Her parents neither have reliable income sources in the village nor do they have enough land for harvesting crops. Finally, her parents decided to work harder for a better future. As planned, Apsara’s father went abroad in 2017, leaving behind his family and a newborn baby girl. Then her mother handles the home and works harder to raise the children.
It is already more than five years since Apsara and her sisters have not seen their father. The family in Nepal misses him very much. But their father couldn’t return to Nepal due to his low-paid job. Now the children are growing up day by day too. His responsibility of educating them and expenses are also growing. So, she has to work harder in the future when his daughters are at college and university levels.
Apsara Jirel is a brilliant girl student, according to her school. She is smarter and endowed with a beautiful heart. Besides this, she also has a versatile personality. She is helpful to her mother at home. She helps her mother at home during her school holidays. She also cares for her younger sister while her mother goes to work.
