About

Accompany|Build Ability|Spread Wings

Sherpa Children Home (SCH) was established to take in little refugee kids who fled to Kathmandu during the 2015 Nepal earthquake. In addition to taking care of the children in SCH over the years, SCH has also been doing social services in Kathmandu, Jiri, Charikot, Tembathang..etc., such as scholarship and life supply for needy children, winter clothes distribution, emergency relief, scholarship for talented but needy college students, mountain school upgradation and so on. SCH does not only help Sherpa community, it helps all people in need.

SCH was registered to the Nepal government on October 18, 2020, and officially became a non-profit organization (NPO) with independent team and financial management. SCH invited young elites with enthusiasm, good character and talent as board members from the more than 1,000 needy children being sponsored over the years, considering different regions and professions, in order to strengthen local services and cultivate community leaders and social talents.

Over the years, SCH has sponsored countless children to grow up, and some children have also participated in volunteer services, learning to help others. Just like salmons migrating, children receive help and gradually turn to have the ability to help others, from the palm of the hand upward to the palm of the hand downward. Such a cycle of goodness is continuous, and it is expected to bring positive energy to the society.

Service

Yak Man

Most important is I am still alive. I cannot imagine what would happen to my family without me. I was worrying too much about my wife and baby after the accident.

Lakpa

The surgery went well, and I was back at the hostel soon after. I was so grateful to the SCH staff and ICEF-Taiwan for their incredible support. They have done so much for me and the other children at the hostel. They have provided us with a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment that has helped us grow and develop.
